Day.This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus!!Aspirus Spine & Neuroscience Institute in Wausau, WI is seeking a SURGERY FIRST ASSISTANT to join our team!The Surgical First Assistant is responsible for providing primary assistance to the primary surgeon during a surgical procedure. The First Assist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures and provides exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation while optimizing results for our patients. Collaborates with all surgical team members to ensure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. The First Assist participates in the delivery of health care to patients including maintenance of clinical record/documentation in the clinic setting. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for medical staff. The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with clinic and surgical policies and the strict observance of confidentiality of patient information.HOURS: Full Time, 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period, day shift.Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an approved accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Has advanced knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and operative technique related to the operative procedure in which the First Assistant will assist.
• Six months of on-the-job training/experience as a First Assist.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification desired.Employee Benefits
