Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (36 hours/week) Guaranteed Hours: [Information Not Provided] Experience: 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Competency in telemetry Job Description: - Provide care in a level III trauma center with 99 beds. - Work in a unit with 41 beds, handling basic medical and surgical patient types. - Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 during night shifts based on acuity. - Utilize a centralized telemetry monitoring system with dedicated tele tech support. - Collaborate with a charge nurse who does not carry a patient load. - Supported by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and receptionists during the day. - Engage with hospitalists and Respiratory Therapists (RT), both available 24/7. - Assist with peripheral blood draws in coordination with the phlebotomy team. - Chart using the EPIC system and medication administration with Alaris and Pyxis systems. - Participate in at least one orientation shift to learn the unit's flow. - Wear scrubs in any color as per preference.
