Job Description:

Reports to: Service Advisor The Mechanic/Marine Technician s responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair marinized engines
• Repair propulsion components such as gear cases, stern drives, etc.
• Diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systems
• Perform winterization and summarization of engines and boat systems
• Solid understanding of 12V and battery bank systems
• Operate diagnostic software
• Installations such as new engines, pumps and others as assigned
• Perform mechanical repairs on boat equipment including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, etc.
• Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilities
• Perform other duties as assigned or apparent Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
• High school diploma required
• 3-6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation
  • OEM certifications preferred, but not required
  • Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagrams
  • Ability to use test instruments
  • Ability to use specialty tools as designated by OEM s
  • Must provide tools and test equipment
    • Specialty tools and diagnostics provided
    • Electrical troubleshooting experience
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
    • Strong work ethic and personal commitment
    • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
    • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
    • Willingness to work on a variety of internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.)
      • Diesel-only experience is welcome!
