Job Description:
Reports to: Service Advisor The Mechanic/Marine Technician s
responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis
and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales
and safety requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair marinized engines
- Repair propulsion components such as gear cases, stern drives,
etc.
- Diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake
systems
- Perform winterization and summarization of engines and boat
systems
- Solid understanding of 12V and battery bank systems
- Operate diagnostic software
- Installations such as new engines, pumps and others as
assigned
- Perform mechanical repairs on boat equipment including water
systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls,
etc.
- Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and
abilities
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent Minimum
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive
attitude
- High school diploma required
- 3-6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair
and installation
- OEM certifications preferred, but not required
- Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical
wiring diagrams
- Ability to use test instruments
- Ability to use specialty tools as designated by OEM s
- Must provide tools and test equipment
- Specialty tools and diagnostics provided
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Strong work ethic and personal commitment
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team,
department, and company goals
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Willingness to work on a variety of internal combustion engines
(diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.)
- Diesel-only experience is welcome!
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to
